The rifle is the airsoft solider's best firend. The best airsoft rifle are electric. They are fully automatic and are easily recharged. They are also the most common and therefore have the most options as far as upgrades go. Airsof rifles are usually modeled after the M4, M16, G36, M14, or AK47, but there are also many other variants.

The look of the rifle does not make a big difference in how good the gun is. Usually players pick a gun which they think looks cool and has a high rate of fire and shoots hard. On the inside they are all pretty much the same anyway, consisting of a battery, motor, gearbox, pistol, and barrel.

Besides electric rifles there are also gas and spring powered guns. Spring powerd guns are either used by beginners or by snipers. Spring powered airsoft sniper rifles can shoot at high velocities and are usually very accurate.

Gas powered rifles are less common but usually of very high quailty. They are the closest to the real thing because in a real rifle bullets are propelled by the expanding gas created by the exploding gunpowder. Using gas in airsoft guns gives them almost instantaneous trigger response which is ideal becaus it allows the gun to react faster when the trigger is pulled.
